Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026

This page tells you what cookies we use, why we use them, and how to turn them off. We wrote it in plain words so you can read it fast.

What is a cookie

A cookie is a tiny text file that a web site puts on your device when you visit. It helps the site recall you the next time you come. It can also help the site show you ads that fit your needs.

Cookies are not bad. They make the web work. But you have the right to know what cookies a site uses and to turn them off if you want.

What cookies we use

We use a few light cookies. Here is the list.

  • Need cookies: these make the site work. With out them the scan would not run.
  • Stats cookies: these tell us how many people visit. We use them to fix the site.
  • Ad cookies: these may show on guide pages. They help pay for the site.

Why we use cookies

We use cookies for three reasons. First, to make the site work. The scan needs a few cookies to run. Second, to see how the site is used. We look at how many people visit and what pages they read. This helps us fix bugs and add new things. Third, to show a few light ads on the guide pages. The ads help pay for the site so we can keep the free scan free.

We do not use cookies to track you with out your ok. We do not sell cookie data.

How to turn off cookies

You can turn off cookies in your browser. Most browsers have a settings page where you can pick what to block. Here is how in the top browsers.

  • Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies.
  • Safari: Preferences, then Privacy, then Cookies.
  • Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies.
  • Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
Tip: If you turn off all cookies, the scan may not run. Leave the need cookies on so the tool works.

Third party cookies

Some cookies come from third parties. For example, our ad partner may set a cookie to show you ads that fit your needs. We do not run these cookies our selves, but we let them run so the ads can pay for the site.

If you want to turn off third party cookies, you can do it in your browser settings. Or you can use an ad block er.

Cookies and your photo

Cookies do not touch your photo. Your photo is not saved in a cookie. Your photo is sent to our server for the scan, then deleted. Cookies only help the site run and show ads.

If you turn off cookies, your photo is still safe. We delete it right after the scan, with or with out cookies.
